• Why is Skin-to-skin important?

  The Golden Hour: The first hour after birth is magical and important. Immediately after birth, the baby is placed on the mother’s chest. During that first hour, the baby goes through nine instinctive phases. Skin-to-skin contact is important after birth and during the first 4 weeks of your postpartum period. Skin-to-skin contact isn’t just a trend—it’s essential. It’s standard practice immediately after birth, but it still doesn’t happen often enough during the postpartum period itself. Did you know that babies don’t need any clothes at all when they’re close to you? • The Birthing Dress

  Together with an obstetrics physician, we created a new design. Especially for high risk pregnant women, we came up with an adaptation on the design to make the delivery & days before or sometimes weeks in the hospital a little more Comfy #momsaresuperheroes. Pushers on the shoulders for purposes, IV lines, blood pressure monitors and epidural line can be inserted. Additional pushers for abdominal control and docking/during continuous CTG recording. Easy to open and quick to change, should the situation arise, where someone does have to go to the operating rooms for a cesarean section very suddenly during labor.

• What is The Mom Dress?

  After years of making soooo many moms happy during the postpartum period with comfortable loungewear, we were asked time and time again if we could expand our collection… yesssss, we did! Here’s our new design in our best-selling bamboo rib fabric: the new must-have Mama Dress. For the pregnant moms the perfect length. Of course, it's breastfeeding-friendly, easy to open thanks to the subtle snaps, and the bamboo fabric is super soft and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. Made with Love from BAMBOO. Rib bamboo is a ribbed bamboo fabric that is extra stretchy and shape-retaining, with a soft texture against the skin. The Mom Brand’s rib bamboo collection combines the natural properties of bamboo with a flexible, comfortable fit for labour and the postpartum period.

  We believe in socially responsible manufacturing. That is why we have chosen to manufacture in Europe: our workshop is in Portugal, where we ensure good quality, high standards, and absolutely no child labor.
  Sustainability —the weaving of bamboo textiles, fabric dyeing, design, and the entire sewing process all take place in the same region. This ensures fair wages and good working conditions for all employees. Furthermore, the workshops can produce the collection without relying on energy-intensive logistics. The product’s lifespan is a key factor in sustainability. Our fabric retains its beauty for a long time and can be washed countless times. So you can use it again during the postpartum period, in the months that follow, or for your next pregnancy.

• Bamboo fabric

  Our collection is made from bamboo. Bamboo yarn is made from bamboo grass that is harvested and processed into cellulose, which is then spun into a natural plant-based fiber that is 100% biodegradable. Bamboo fabric is silky soft, stretchy, UV-protective, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and moisture-wicking (dries very quickly). Pregnant women and newborns have sensitive skin; bamboo feels wonderfully soft.

• Baby Jumpsuit

  For the most beautiful start together! After we designed the perfect dress for the postpartum period, we came up with the idea to create the softest first baby outfit. Matching with Mom in silky-soft bamboo for unmatched comfort. Matching with Mom: the newborn outfit & hat. The baby outfit’s design is dad-proof—easy to put on and take off. No complicated wraps or tricky designs—thanks to the smart design, dressing your baby is a breeze for that very first time and, of course, easy peasy for every time after that. • Dutch Design

  We started production in a small atelier in Almere, but demand soon outgrew our capacity, so we began looking for reliable sewing atelier. We found them in Portugal. We’ve been working with the same family owned atelier for years now—reliable ateliers that have been manufacturing clothing for major European fashion brands since 1974. Our warehouse and office are located in Lelystad. This is where we inspect our collection, handle our designs, and manage everything else that’s important for our brand to maintain high quality.

• Labor bag

  The Labor bag is often called the “escape bag” in Dutch. As if you have to flee in a hurry or jump into a taxi like in the movies. Fortunately, reality is a bit more laid-back. But even if you’re giving birth at home, it’s nice to have everything gathered in one place. That way, if you do have to move around during labor, you’ll have everything right at hand. And if you stay at home, the maternity nurse can easily find that carefully selected newborn outfit (instead of that hideous gift you received from your great-aunt that was still lying around somewhere in the dresser).
