‘I had underestimated it a bit anyway, becoming a mom. I have a hard time dealing with change anyway, and of course this is the biggest change ever. And I have a hard time with that. So no pink cloud here for now. Well feelings of sadness, homesickness and fear of the future. Thanks to all the sweet messages, I also know in the meantime that I am not alone with these feelings and that it’s okay that the bond with my girls still needs to grow and that I don’t really feel like a mom yet.

Skin-to-skin contact, according to my midwife, would help ensure better bonding. Something that we hadn’t really done in the hospital until now and so we have a little bit of catching up to do. I live in the @thebirthdress these days and this is ideal for kangarooing. The dress fits wonderfully and, thanks to the snaps in the front, can open up to the navel so I can easily lay Ella (and soon Luna) bare on my chest and keep warm at the same time. Nice and close.
